PPPPasole... Great soup that is hard to find (Another family recipe)

INGREDIENts for pASOLE:                     

SERVES 5-10  PEOPLE PLUS LEFTOVERS

3 ONIONS (1/2 FOR STOCK AND 2 ½ FOR TOPPINGS

6 GARLIC CLOVES FOR THE STOCK

4 LBS OF PORK SHOULDER CUT INTO GOLF BALL SIZE CHUNCK

3 LBS. OF CHICKEN THIGHS

OREGANO

2 TABLESPOONS  OF SALT

6 LBS OF HOMONY EXTRA IF YOU WANT

6 LIMES

1 BUSH OF CILANTRO

TAPATIO SALSA

  

 

DIRECTIONS:

1.

Boil 3 gallons water in a six gallon pot add two tablespoons of salt the garlic cloves and the ½ of onion. Wait of water to boil then add the pork meat. Wait an hour then add chicken thighs, and the oregano. Once the chicken has been cooking for 20 minutes add the hominy.Then cook for another 45 minutes and its ready to serve.

As the pasole is cooking dice up some cilantro, onion and jalapeños (if you like it spicy). Also on the side have oregano, limes tapatio sauce and salt.

Serve pasole into a bowl and add the ingredients you like and it is time to eat.
