Today was MLK day and I had an itch to do a review, I was going to take the day off but decided my fans would not enjoy that as much as I would. I decided to go to my favorite type of restaurant, Mexican. I had heard some good things through the grapevine about this place so I decided to try it for myself. They seat me and I look around the restaurant, they have a very small buffet and it is very well decorated. I sit down and my waitress brings me chips and salsa and a water. I am very picky about chips and salsa, I take one bite of the salsa and it tastes like paste picante sauce, it taste like they just took it out of the jar and served it to me. I asked my waitress it they had any other salsas, she said yes and brought one out. It was a dried jalapeño oil sauce, it wasn’t bad but it had way too much salt in it and I am a salt lover. I decided to order what the waitress says what they are known for, their enchiladas. So that’s what I did. I ordered chicken Enchiladas with sour cream. The meal comes and looks promising. As you can tell I am not too impressed with this place. I take a bite of the rice and beans. The rice was white rice with tomato sauce you want some good rice check out my recipe for Best Spanish rice. The beans were watery and out of a can sprinkled with cheese. The food was edible and that was about it. I have been noticing a trend with Mexican food here in AZ either the food is cooked by white people or they try to use the cheapest supplies as possible to make a buck, it all taste generic.
PRICE: C
The prices are about what you would expect to find at any family owned Mexican restaurant here in town $7-$15 per entrée.
CLEANLINESS: C+
The outside was clean and swept and the inside looked clean until I got to my table and they sat me without wiping it off, I was disappointed.
OVERALL: C-
Overall I give it a C- generic Mexican food, better off trying a Filebertos or a fast food Mexican restaurant, or staying home and cooking for yourself. Locations and contact information for the restaurant is located on the menu. Make it a great day and eat well, you deserve it.
