Not what I expected to do today was to go and get some lunch with my mom but she surprised me and said lets go to…
FOOD: C-
Abuelo’s Mexican food it was at one time Phoenix’s best Mexican food by Urban spoon and possibly Phoenix Magazine. I don’t really know who is doing the judging but there are far better places to eat that are never mentioned. Anyways I decided to order what they are known for their enchiladas. I ordered their shredded beef, chicken and avocado enchiladas. When I got the plate the enchiladas were covered in this cream cheese sauce that really reminded me of nacho cheese sauce with cream and that is all that I could taste was the sauce. I could not taste the beef or chicken, and another thing that I am noticing is that all restaurants stray away from using salt or spices to any of their food. Does anyone know why? The rice was nothing to write about and neither was these family potatoes that tasted like twice baked mashed potatoes. The chips and salsa were average and not very spicy, and the guacamole was avocado with tomato and onion, this is not guacamole! If you want to know how to make guacamole that is amazing call me. Overall I was not impressed with this place at all!
SERVICE B
They were shorthanded and were not polite to deal with since they were in the lunch rush.
