Family secret! bean soup with bacon onion and cilantro


INGREDIENTS FOR SOUP

Ingredients

*This recipe is when you make a spiral ham with a bone in it. Roughly cut the bone out from the ham, the more ham you keep on the bone the more chunks of ham you will get.

· Ham bone

· 16oz. of pinto beans half of a 32oz bag

· 6 cups of purified water

· One package of bacon with or without fat ( your choice)

· Half of an onion

· Handful of cilantro

· 4 tablespoons Salt

· 1 teaspoon Coriander

· 1 teaspoon Cumin

· 1 teaspoon Garlic powder

· 1 teaspoon Onion powder

DIRECTIONS:

Get out the crock pot or large pot. Place the ham bone, beans and a quarter of the onion and cook on low heat for 7-9 hours.

In the last hour turn the heat of what you are cooking in crock pot or large pot. In a separate pan cook the bacon, once it is cooked break bacon into small pieces and place in with the ham and beans. The slice up a quarter of and onion and the cilantro and place into with the beans, ham and bacon. At this point turn back on the heat and cook for 30 minutes.

Now it is time to add the spices, mix and let sit or 15 minutes for everything to blend well together, once the 15 minutes is up its time to eat.
