After I was done with school I decided to go check out a new restaurant out in surprise. So I decided to try…
FOOD: D
Casa De Angelinas, I get there at lunch time and there were not too many people in there which is usually not a good sign. I sit down and my waitress takes my order and brings me chips and salsa. I love chips and salsa. After tasting the 3 different types of salsa (not spicy medium and hot) I realized I have tasted similar salsas. They all tasted like they came from Costco and didn’t taste homemade at all, the chips were stale, and the one cool thing was the drinks came in goblet sizes glass cups. I ordered the green chili burrito; I get my plate and a take a bite. I am going to stop right there and say there are far too many Mexican restaurants that taste the same and that is because they are too scared to take a chance and make food that is authentic to their family ( it all tastes like it was Mexican food made by gringos). I am tired of these places not being authentic and trying to appease everyone. Make it authentic damn it or don’t open a restaurant. Back to the food, my burrito looked good. The tortilla was store bought and the rice and beans tasted like they were taken out of a can. The meat was the only good thing about the food. It was shredded pork.
PRICE: $-$$
Decent prices for what you get. I felt like I overpaid for what I got.
CLEANLINESS: A
The inside and outside were pristinely clean and the empty tables were just as clean.
OVERALL: D
Overall I give it a D the food was below average and the service was good. Try it for yourself but I was not impressed at all. Locations and contact information for the restaurant is located on the menu. Make it a great day and eat well, you deserve it.
