Last night we were ready to go out so we decided to go to a newer sushi restaurant that we have never been to we drive by there and it is closed down already. SO we headed north to another option. I call ahead to see how long the wait is and they said 15-20 minutes, so I said great we are about that far away. We look up all the reviews of this place and it is a half star better than our favorite sushi place (Hayashi). We were excited we get there and it turns out there is now a 30-45 minutes wait. Yen Sushi which is located on the northeast corner of Bell and 43rd avenue in Phoenix AZ and its open from 11am- 10pm. The decor is very Asian and the inside is dim and very romantic. The service is very polite and professional. We are seated in about 20 minutes which was their original time frame so we grateful. We sit down and realize the reason it was so packed is it was happy hour which is 8pm to 10pm which is close. They have great items that are only $5 each, some rolls and sushi that normally cost $10-$12 is only $5 which was awesome. So we decided to order miso soup, Shrimp with wasabi sauce, Philly roll, Atomic roll, and the firecracker roll, overall the sushi was very fresh and of the highest grade. The way they prepared the rolls is here they lost some points. The Philly roll had way tom much cream cheese and that is all we could taste, the firecracker roll was good but they accidentally put tobiko on their which is like fish eggs. The shrimp with wasabi sauce was amazing and the atomic roll was perfect. The miso soup was fresh and the wasabi was hot, the way it is supposed to be.
The drinks come in cans and there are no free refills on sodas, but there are refills on teas.

All together our food was $40 3 rolls and 2 appetizers good for a sushi restaurant.

The tables were clean and the floors we spotless a very clean establishment.
